Model Current began with a simple frustration: AI coverage often asks you to feel excited or afraid before it helps you understand.

I’m Aymeric Deschard, the founder and publisher. I created Model Current to offer something calmer — reporting that respects your intelligence, admits uncertainty and remains enjoyable to read.

The portrait is personal. The reporting is not: our work follows published standards, cites its sources and keeps evidence separate from opinion.

Why we exist

Artificial intelligence is becoming infrastructure. It shapes products, work, public policy and culture, yet much of the conversation swings between breathless promotion and vague alarm. We believe readers deserve something steadier.

We report what happened, why it matters, what is actually supported by evidence and what remains uncertain. We translate technical material into ordinary language without sanding away the important detail.

What we cover

Our four desks — Research, Business, Policy and Society — follow the full life of an AI system: the ideas behind it, the organisations building it, the rules around it and the people living with it.

Ownership

Model Current is being developed by Altoria Digital. The company is in formation. The publication is editorially independent and will disclose material commercial relationships wherever they appear.
